Furlough Scheme Extended
by The Payroll Manager on 11/02/20Well these are certainly fast moving times with the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS) being extended, at the very last minute, until the 30th November 2020.
It really is good news because the CJRS is now more generous than before with the UK Government covering the full 80% of standard contracted pay (for unworked hours), meaning that employers will only bear the cost of National Insurance and pension contributions.
Employees must be on an employers PAYE payroll by 23:59 30th October 2020 to qualify.
The Job Support Scheme has been postponed until the beginning of December. This may change if the country is not able to come out of National lockdown on 2nd December 2020. Watch this space...
